Bi Vocational Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Pastor

We are a small church in southeast Georgia, established in 1845. We are currently seeking a motivated pastor who possesses strong preaching skills, a heart for serving others, the enthusiasm to support the youth programs of the church, and the ability to lead the church. We are part of the Southern Baptists Association. We believe in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Job highlights

• The pastor is the designated leader of the church concerning all matters and is primarily responsible for the spiritual direction and health of the church body and its leadership
• His focus will be on the study of scripture and prayer so that he may properly teach and preach the Word of God to the church body
• To be in charge of all church services(Sunday morning/evening and Wednesday evening) and he should make every effort to attend any other church events scheduled.
• To make every effort to supply a fill in pastor in the event of an absence from the pulpit due to sickness or vacation or give adequate notice to the deacons of said absence.
• To preside over all church conferences unless absence is necessary at which time the church bylaws will be adhered to
• To make every effort to teach and extend biblical community, fellowship, and hospitality as a shepherd
• Teach, fellowship, and shepherd to those in need by visiting church members, prospective members, and sick, so long as this does not interfere with his primary responsibilities
• To work alongside the director of music to ensure worship is theologically correct and appropriate
• To provide advice/counsel and seek advice/counsel pertaining to various additional meetings and activities of the church, from and with the church council, deacons and associated committees
• To support, teach and shepherd to the youth missions program.
• To work with the missions team to support various mission opportunities, to encourage the church in giving to missions, and involve the church in personal mission service
