Minister of Students
Bethel Baptist Church Sycamore, Ga
Position Description: The Minister of Students will lead, coordinate, plan and promote the student ministry of Bethel Baptist Church. Under the general supervision of the Pastor and the Youth Committee, the Minister of Students will assist in the outreach, growth, leadership and discipleship of the church. The primary focus is a full-time ministry leader to the youth age group and serve as an overseer for the children and college ministry.
Qualifications: The Minister of Students shall be a person who reveals, by life, a true conversion experience and has the education/experience for the various duties of the position. This person shall be a family unit. The individual should be an ordained, licensed, or layperson, male or female, who is maried to a person of the opposite sex.
Objective: Plan, direct, and coordinate the student ministry with an emphasis of reaching students for Christ and training them to serve him.
Responsiblities:
- Outreach - Plan, develop, and implement outreach to lost and unchurched youth. Activites should be planned that reach the secular mind in order to reach them for Christ and his Church. Assist in making hospital, outreach and ministry visitation to church members and prospects as needed, or as directed.
- Discipleship - Develop and maintain in on-going discipleship program to teach students how to teach others to walk with the Lord. Train and utilize adults to disciple students.
- Development & Leadership - Work closely with church leaders to meet the discipleship needs of the students. Lead seminars, retreats, camps, rallies, mission trip, etc. that will promote growth. Interntionally develop youth leaders and cultivate a pool of adult volunteer leaders who can chaperon and lead events.
- Recreation & Fellowship - Organize and provide student fellowship, recreational trips, etc. which will provide excitement and positive fellowship.
- Communications - Be available to parents, youth, and the church members when possible. Inform parents and students of activites through written, electronic, and personal contact. Maintain a personal ministry with students and families through visits, phone calls, letters, social medica, etc. and a personal ministry to parents via counseling, conferences, and fellowship.
- Annual Budget - Prepare annual budget for Student Ministry. Administer the approved budget under the guidelines of church's financial policies.
- Church Council - Serve as a member of church council and attend meetings. Also, represent Bethel Baptist Church at denominational meeting as required.
- Assist Pastor - Assist Pastor in daily activites in and around the church. Work together with the Pastor in ministering to the church body. Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor

- Attend regular services of the church.
- Devote time daily for reading the bible and preparing lessons for class.
- Be in good standing with the church and community.
- Live a true godly life in and outside of church.
Continue Self-Improvement:
- Keep informed of current ideas and information about Sunday School through systematic reading and studying.
- Attend training seminars, conventions, and workshops. (approved by Pastor)
- Self-evaluate periodically and find ways to improve teaching and effectivenesss.
