Tennille Baptist Church Tennille, Georgia is seeking a Full Time Pastor who is called by God to provide spiritual and pastoral leadership to our congregation, preach the Word of God faithfully, and shepherds the congregation with wisdom, humility, and love.

In addition to meeting the biblical qualifications for a Pastor/Overseer found in Ephesians 4:11-13,  I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and I Peter 5:1-3, the ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiencies in preaching, teaching, servant leadership, and disciple making. Our future pastor must exhibit a heart to shepherd God’s church as well as actively sharing the gospel.

 

PRIMARY ROLES

 

WORSHIP

  • Preach the morning and evening services.
  • Lead prayer meeting at mid-week services
  • Coordinate with worship (music) leader to prepare a service pleasing to the Lord.
  • Lead a Lord Supper each quarter of the church year.
  • Perform weddings, funerals, dedications and baptisms as needed. as well as special recognitions.

                  

 

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  • Oversee the operational aspects of the church
  • Budgeting, Financial Planning, personnel management and organizational strategy for the church as well as the church office.
  • Serve as ex-officio on all committees and teams
  • Pastor and staff will work together to prepare a monthly newsletter as well as post information/activities of the church/church family to social media.

 

 

MINISTRIAL DUTIES

  • Encourage Bible study, mission study/activities.
  • Development/implementation of small groups.
  • Work with the body of deacons to coordinate ministries in the church.
  • Provide counseling as his abilities allow.
  • Expected to act in a manner always becoming a minister.
  • Take two weeks paid vacation per year.
  • Allowed 2 additional weeks per year to preach revivals or other ministerial duties outside the pulpit.

 

 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to congregation. Fostering a culture of faith, love and service.
  • Provide pastoral care for congregation. Includes visiting the sick, counseling those in need, offering support during times of crisis.
  • Work with church leadership and staff to establish and execute a vision and strategic plan for the church’s growth and leadership development.
  • Engage and build relationships with the local community. Participate in outreach and mission activities, collaborate with other organizations to address community needs,
  • Mentor, supervise and support church staff and volunteers. Foster a positive collaborative work environment with leadership development.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS OF A PASTOR

 

Deep commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Educational level from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ordination level and good standing within a recognized Christian denomination.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse congregation and adapt to various ministry contexts.

Strong leadership skills for empowering others and fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment,

Deep understanding of and commitment to the Bible, Christian theology, and Southern Baptist tradition.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, organize events and work effectively under pressure.

Heart for pastoral care and ability to provide compassionate and empathetic support to the congregation in times of need.
