Job Title: Youth Pastor

Job Summary: 

Mt. Vernon Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Pastor to lead and disciple students (grades 6 - 12 part time or grades pre – 12 full time) in their spiritual growth. The Youth Pastor will be responsible for developing and overseeing a comprehensive youth ministry that aligns with the church’s mission and Southern Baptist beliefs. This individual should have a heart for students, a commitment to biblical teaching, and the ability to foster a welcoming, Christ-centered environment. 

Responsibilities: 

• Spiritual Leadership: Provide sound biblical teaching and guidance to help youth grow in their faith. 

• Youth Programs: Plan and lead weekly youth services, Bible studies, small groups, and discipleship programs. 

• Outreach & Evangelism: Engage with students inside and outside the church, fostering relationships that encourage outreach and community involvement. 

• Events & Activities: Organize retreats, mission trips, camps, and other special events to promote fellowship and spiritual growth. 

• Mentorship: Provide one-on-one mentoring and counseling to students as needed. 

• Volunteer Development: Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to assist with youth ministry programs. 

• Family Engagement: Partner with parents to support the spiritual development of their children. 

• Administrative Duties: Manage budgets, communicate effectively with church leadership, and maintain a safe, structured youth ministry. 

Qualifications: 

• A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Traditional Southern Baptist theology and doctrine. 

• Experience working with youth in a ministry setting. 

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 

• Ability to relate well to students and create an engaging, fun, and spiritually enriching environment. 

• Willingness to adhere to and support the mission, vision, and values of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
