 Job Summary and Overview

 The Lead Pastor for New Armuchee Baptist Church is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the church. His ministry includes preaching and teaching, leadership of the staff, stewardship of the church resources, pastoral care of the church family’s ministry needs and establishing a culture of evangelism and discipleship.

 As the face of the congregation, he is expected to lead with integrity, wisdom, faith and purity. He is to exemplify spiritual leadership in his home, the church and in the community and is to establish a reputation of holiness and godliness for all to see.

 The Lead Pastor shall guide the church to identify and execute a long range strategic vision for the church's future. He shall work with the church’s lay leadership teams in carrying out the ministry and administration of the church’s vision.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 The following is a summary of the Lead Pastor’s fourfold major ministry responsibilities and is taken from I Peter 5:1 - 3, “Therefore, I urge elders among you, as your fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and one who is also a fellow partaker of the glory that is to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not with greed but with eagerness; nor yet as domineering over those assigned to your care, but by proving to be examples to the flock.”

 Elder (Preacher/Teacher)

 The Lead Pastor shall teach and preach the Word of God as the inerrant, authoritative truth of God. He shall unashamedly preach and teach the Word with boldness, enthusiasm and preparedness. His preaching ministry assumes that he studies and prepares both the message and himself for the accuracy, presentation, and exemplificaton of the message.

 Shepherd (Pastor)

 The Lead Pastor shall shepherd the congregation by providing pastoral care in areas such as biblical guidance, pre-marriage, marriage and family guidance, hospital, in-home and ministry care facility visitation, weddings, funerals and other pastoral ministry opportunities. This shepherding ministry also includes the discipleship of new believers and all believers for the purpose of fully following Christ and learning the truths of scripture.

 Overseer (Bishop)

 The Lead Pastor shall oversee the day to day ministry and administration of the church. He shall steward the resources of the church as unto God. This includes stewardship of staffing, finances, facilities as well as the future vision of the church. As the overseer, he shall work with the lay leadership teams to ensure faithful management of the church’s resources.

 Witness (Evangelist)

 The Lead Pastor shall lead the church in evangelism and evangelism training. He should actively share his faith with the lost and be engaged in mission and evangelism opportunities that lead others to faith in Christ. He shall set the expectation for baptisms and lead the church to have an evangelistic fervor.
