Faceville Baptist Church was founded in 1927, and is located in rural southwest Georgia.  Our average weekly attendance for Sunday morning worship is approximately 100.  Sunday School attendance averages approximately 53 weekly, and Wednesday night programs average 70.  We are actively and prayerfully seeking a full-time, dedicated pastor to provide pastoral care and leadership for our church body.  The Pastor's role and purpose will be to serve the church by being the head spiritual leader to all ministerial staff, teachers, and volunteers; and be held accountable to, first of all, God, as well as the deacons and the church body, while spiritually feeding and leading the congregation and community through the ministries of preaching and teaching God's Word.

Primary Duties and Respondibilities:

  • Provide a spirit-anointed, biblically-based preaching ministry to fulfill the Great Commission and Great Commandment regardless of age, race, or spiritual condition.
  • Provide overall leadership, including working closely with all other worship leaders and teachers.
  • Encourage and nurture the spiritual development and beliefs of the congregation in accordance with Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
  • Provide pastoral care and counseling as needed by the members of the congregation.
  • Conduct weddings and funerals, as needed by church members.
  • Lead regular staff meetings and attend deacon meetings.
  • Provide leadership to deacons and lay leaders in developing goals, communicating a clear sense of direction, and equipping the leadership for ministry in accordance to Ephesians 4.
  • Work with Deacons, Finance Team, and Nominating Committee to develop job descriptions, procedures, and policies for all lay positions in the church.
  • Participate in developing the budget, leading stewardship, and financial campaigns as needed.
  • Attend all church functions held by any ministry of Faceville Baptist Church.
