The Children’s Minister is responsible for the spiritual leadership, direction, and development of the Children’s Ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church (IBC KidZ). The Children’s Minister serves at the direction of the Senior Pastor and under the supervision of the Church Administrator, while working in a cooperative manner with other team members at Immanuel Baptist Church.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:

  • Must be committed to personal evangelism and soul winning, committed to outreach and development of a plan to include members of IBC KidZ in outreach activities.
  • Working with children who give their lives to Jesus; and be a resource to parents as they disciple their children.
  • Lead, recruit, and train leaders in administering an effective ministry of Christian education for children from birth through grade 5 (i.e., Small Group
  • Bible Study, Wednesday age-graded Bible-based curriculum, summer activities, KidZ Church, VBS, Easter Events, Fall Events, summer camps, and other such activities.
  • Foster relationships with other area children’s ministers.
  • Engage school campuses serving alongside other para-church organizations.
  • Serve as liaison between schools and Immanuel Baptist Church when hosting school events.
  • Prepare annual budget proposal for IBC KidZ and administer the approved budget
  • Follow-up with visitors to the church including, not limited just to families with children.
  • Assist in assimilating new families into the ministry and into church life.

Qualifications:

  • Committed Christian with a servant’s heart.
  • Committed to Children’s Ministry.
  • Has the ability to lead teams.
  • Experience working with children and their families.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required); Master’s or pursuing Master’s Degree (preferred).
