The Next Generation Pastor will develop and implement a comprehensive ministry for children and youth (Birth-12th grade) at Woodland Baptist Church. The primary goals are to introduce children and students to Christ, disciple them, and train them to serve Christ. Equally important is empowering parents and guardians to raise their children to spiritual maturity. 

Qualifications

  • Education: College degree or higher
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading in a church or business (expected)
  • Embody the leadership qualifications outlined in I Timothy 3:1-7
  • Active member of WBC and adherence to The Baptist Faith and Message 2000

Key Responsibilities

Ministry Development and Leadership

  • Establish and lead a comprehensive children and student ministry (Birth-12th grade) designed to reach and disciple children/students
  • Organize and lead volunteer Outreach and/or Life Groups and Wednesday night NextGen ministries
  • Support local schools and community activities for students
  • Manage the Next Generation Ministry budget
  • Organize and lead major events (adventure camps, senior trips, winter camp, etc.)
  • Oversee intern(s)

Church Leadership and Teamwork

  • Contribute to the leadership teams of all WBC ministries
  • Support the overall ministries of WBC and be a team player
  • Operate under the supervision of the Executive Pastor

 

Required Skills

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in word processing software
  • Social media management
  • Knowledge of video and tech equipment
  • Web design software proficiency
  • Familiarity with ProPresenter 7, Facebook, Vimeo, Canva, and Squarespace

Soft Skills

  • Servant's heart and positive attitude
  • Maintain open, frequent communication with the ministry team, support staff, volunteers, and members
  • Adaptable in stressful situations and a quick learner
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Initiative, perseverance, and a "whatever it takes" attitude
  • Strong organizational skills
